Why You Should Step Into Your Kids' Shoes

Personal Development

The blog post below is a rough transcription of the video above – so please listen to the video if possible – otherwise, here is what was on the video:

Hey everyone, it is Neha from College Shortcuts! Oh my god, it's Wednesday. Yes, Wednesday, and you know what's really funny? I take class every Wednesday.

Like a lot of people are so confused why I even do that, but I mean if I'm going to be a good tutor and a good coach, I gotta still put my feet in your kid's shoes.

I'm kind of excited because today I'm going on a school bus.  Yeah, can you believe it? I'm actually going on a yellow school bus which is kind of a big deal. I'm going to have a friend of mine help me as we walk on the bus, as we wait for our chaperone. I'm not chaperoning, today I'm a student. It's so cool I have a lunch bag which is really fun because you should get your lunch bag like (light) enough to pack my own lunch. Yah, it's really exciting today.

Yesterday I had a great time speaking with some incredible students and today I get to be a student, which is really incredible. I think that what makes me so relatable!

It's really funny, I can't remember the last time I rode a school bus. I wonder if he's going to put up the little stop sign they make as you cross, so that you're safe.

I don't know, I'm going to find out really soon, but today I'm going on you know and I got a teenage zit, so it really counts, right, as a teenager?

Today we're gonna be going on this cool tour. I'm part of the Define Life program here in Houston and we have our defining foods lunch. We're gonna be going specifically to their factory. We're going to learn all about Define's clothing line that's made all here in the US, which is really cool. Here's the chaperone! "Hi Henry! Say 'hi'!"

We're going on a school bus. Hopefully we can get on the school bus. We're still figuring out technical difficulties.

I know I'm like a total student, which is kind of exciting. This is our school bus. I feel kind of far away. Yeah the top of the school bus, has anyone ever done that before? I have no idea!

Well guys I just had to say "hi" and let you know a little bit what I'm doing. I got my fun chatty friends.

Alright guys just want to let you know I'm always in it to win it, bye!
