The blog post below is a rough transcription of the video above – so please listen to the video if possible – otherwise, here is what was in the video:
Hi! Neha here with College Shortcuts. It is evening.
I'm super excited to talk with you guys because it has been such an insane day today.
Literally non-stop. I mean, it's what? 7:43 my time in Central time.
I literally just decided to finally stop my day, and finish to go do a home-cooked meal for a friend of mine, and I was like trying to turn off everything.
I wanted to update you guys on what's been going on. It's been unbelievable.
One of the biggest wins I have to say that I had today was I got an email from a client that signed up with us on Monday.
I did a video, they saw it, and they were like "We want you to work with our kid."
It's been absolutely amazing, but what was really cool was one of the things the family was struggling with like, literally that like most parent struggle with is they trying to convince your teenager to do something that they may not want to do.
Meaning they may not want to focus on specifically the test prep side of things.
Let's say you know the August test is coming up for SAT or the September or October test for ACT. I couldn't believe it, but I was able to talk with the student that I've been consulting with. Within 20 minutes she was like "Absolutely, if that's what it's really going to take and I only have to focus for this much time, I get the best help possible, then great, sounds good."
The mom and dad had been working with this student all summer to try to get her to do this or make this decision, since about mid-June.
I was able to able to do that in 20 minutes, so for me that was a huge win.
Now I know with the test scores, which totally matter, that now the student has a much better chance of getting in, because we now have the right coach that's really going to help them be set apart. So really excited about that today.
Also, I finalized the mic situation, and the location, and all the food, and everything we're doing for our event. I have a lot of work to do this weekend. I'm really excited with over 150-200 parents that registered. We're also going to be considering live-casting the event. I've been getting a lot of emails from people that say "I want to watch." I'm looking into that as well.
The last thing I want to talk to you guys about is if you're going to reach out to us, I really want you to be ready to commit.
The reason I'm asking that is we're getting a lot of calls.
I've got my account managers on-the-line ready to go to call, to talk to you guys.
You have to be ready.
You have to be wanting to do this.
You have to be interested in what you want to do for your child's future.
You know one of the moms I talked about today was out of Arizona. She was really sweet. She'd watched my UPenn video and chatted with me and then called me, talked with my team member.
I was like that's it, I'm going to call her. I want to personally talk with her.
We talked about the fact that her kids in eight grade and how she really wants to set him up for success.
It was absolutely like amazing to really see that kind of passion for her child, because their kid is in public school.
Let's face it, they're not going to give the level of consulting like a month-to-month with our peak performance program etc.
Really excited about that because you know she really feels like having a mentor is going to change his life.
Ending up talking with another parent out of California. Oh my god that was amazing. Her son is like a little version of me, literally like all the things he's doing. I was like "I would love to work with him, this is amazing." She signed on for us to get to work together. I have a call with him next week.
I just want you to know, like when I do these videos, it's not like people aren't taking action.
I mean literally we are now at 95% capacity for the school year. We're already booking for next year, so I want you guys to know that this is happening and that people are booking. Even as I'm going to event spaces and handling things.
We're making sure our kids are getting the help they need.
Once we are done, we will close shop, because once we've hit the capacity in which we feel we can give the ultimate level quality of service.
We'll just stop adding because for me it's really about giving the ultimate level quality that we can to students.
It's not about just having a factory of kids working with us because I hire every single person that joins my team.
I'm very very particular.
